November BYU Nutrition and Dietetics Food Demos
12:00 - 12:50 pm
WSC Varsity Theatre
For active and retired faculty, staff, administrators, and their spouses
About
Nutrition plays an essential role in our physical wellness. BYU Nutrition and Dietetics Graduate Interns come and do food demonstrations during Fall Semester to teach employees and their spouses about functional nutrition. Each food demo contains a presentation about an aspect of nutrition and ends with a demonstration of a relevant healthy recipe. Participants then get to sample the food that was demonstrated.
Come try some healthy foods and learn how you can introduce more nutrition into your life!

This Month’s Demo:
Join us to learn how your food choices impact your risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. We will teach you the physiology of prediabetes and evidence-based interventions that decrease your risk for developing diabetes and heart disease. We will focus on small changes that make a big difference including exercising, reading food labels, choosing portion sizes, eating foods in combination, increasing fiber intake, and reducing added sugar intake. The goal of this class is to build your confidence in making healthy lifestyle choices. You will leave with a tasty recipe and more knowledge about managing your overall health. You won't just learn what to do—you'll leave ready to start doing it.
Registration
All active and retired employees and their spouses are invited to participate.
