Blistered Garlic Green Beans

INGREDIENTS
1 lb green beans washed and trimmed
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil divided
Sea Salt
5 garlic cloves sliced thin (minced works are well)
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup slivered almonds
Balsamic glaze and lemon zest to top (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 350. Place slivered almonds on pan and place in oven to toast. 7-8 min until golden brown. They can easily burn so don’t overdue it.
2. Put you pan over high heat (preferably a cast iron). Place green beans in the pan and toss with 1/2 the olive oil. We want to lightly coat them. Spread them out so they are all touching the pan and leave them alone. We want them to blister 7-15min depending on your pan. Once they blister toss to blister the other side.
3. Add garlic slices and balsamic vinegar and toss quickly (there will be steam and smoke). Turn the heat down to medium-low
4. Add a pinch of salt and remaining olive oil. Cook an additional 2-3 min until garlic is fragrant and beginning to crisp. Remove from heat.
5. Add toasted slivered almonds and toss. Top with optional balsamic glaze and lemon zest. Serve and enjoy.
