Career Development

  • Training event- invite an expert in your field or Human Resources to share. You could invite your student employees to attend as well.
  • Invite someone from the department of Risk Management to come and do a presentation on ergonomic risk assessment.
  • Offer a book review on a business, leadership, or personal development book (see the recommended reading list) 
  • Offer professional development assessments from time to time such as strength finder, 360 feedback, Myers Briggs, bias testing, etc. 
  • Hold a career development retreat, conference, or seminar and invite outside professionals to come and speak
  • Utilize HR workshops presented in a 1-2 hr format for staff meetings or retreats
  • Participate in your Professional Community
