About

Nutrition plays an essential role in our physical wellness. BYU Nutrition and Dietetics Graduate Interns come and do food demonstrations during Fall Semester to teach employees and their spouses about functional nutrition. Each food demo contains a presentation about an aspect of nutrition and ends with a demonstration of a relevant healthy recipe. Participants then get to sample the food that was demonstrated.

Come try some healthy foods and learn how you can introduce more nutrition into your life!

Here are the topics for the coming months:
October 24th: "Fill it with Fiber"
November 10th: "Smart Choices for Prediabetes"

This Month’s Demo: What to Expect

Fiber, a vital part of a healthful diet, is made of individual glucose molecules linked together. Fiber helps move food through the digestive tract and control blood sugar, among other benefits. Adding fiber to meals and snacks can boost overall intake and benefits. Additionally, controversies often surround nutrition topics, and fiber is no exception. In our class, we’ll discuss some common fiber misconceptions and highlight recent fiber research studies, learn more about which foods are good sources of fiber, and go over practical, everyday tips to add more fiber to your diet.

Registration
