Wellness Coaching

About

Wellness coaching is available to BYU faculty, staff, their spouses, and students for free. All wellness coaching is offered by Student Wellness! Click here to learn more about wellness coaching.

Your coach can meet with you one-on-one to help you create goals focused wellness in various dimensions, including the pillars of physical wellness like basic muscular strength and endurance, flexibility, and basic nutrition. Often, a Wellness Coach will help you learn a few techniques or workouts you can do at home or in the gym, exercise with proper form, or learn general nutrition principles, but you are welcome to explore the many options available to you through coaching!

Note: The wellness coaches are NOT certified personal trainers or dieticians.

You will need to get a wristband from RB 112 in order to access the fitness centers on campus. In addition, the wristband will give you the opportunity to participate in the Y-fitness classes. These are free for full-time faculty and staff, or it costs $45 a semester if you are not full-time. If you have any more questions about the wristbands you can call the RB information desk at (801) 422-3644 or visit this page to view wristband eligibility.

Alternative Fitness Options

YBeFit

YBeFit is more comprehensive, utilizes machines and other metrics to monitor progress, and is generally a multi-session program. Additionally, YBeFit coaches are trained health coaches and sometimes certified personal trainers as well.

YFitness Classes

YFitness classes are available to anyone who has an active RB wristband. These classes are a great way to learn certain kinds of fitness with a group of people, lead by regular instructors. The schedule varies each semester, so be sure to visit the website regularly!
