About
Active BYU Employees and their immediate families are invited to participate in this year's Ducky Derby (previously known as the Turtle Dash)! Each participant will be given a small, uniquely decorated rubber ducky to participate in races in the South Campus Stream. Winners of each heat will receive a ribbon and will be entered into a final race to compete for a plush ducky!
You may come and go as you please during the event. Races will start at 11:10 and will run every 15 minutes.
Bring a picnic blanket or some chairs for the family and bring lunch, it will be a fun day of ducky races, parachute fun and outdoor games, coloring pages, and the infamous BYU Wellness cookies.
Put the Ducky Derby on your calendar- it's going to be an activity that your family won't want to miss!
Reserve Your Duckies
Participation for this event is limited to active employees. They can bring with them their spouses and dependents, or they can bring a +1. Each participant can receive one ducky to race.
Duckies are limited, so you will want to RSVP to ensure that your group receives enough. RSVPs are not required, but ducks may run out.
Each participant is also required to fill out a waiver to participate in the activities. Waivers will be sent in a confirmation email following a submitted RSVP. After filling out each waiver, you will receive confirmation emails and we ask that you keep these emails to show when you pick up your wrist bands and ducks at the event. If you do not receive your confirmation email, check your Junk/Spam folder!
Skip the Line
Get the most out of our activity by pre-registering and picking up your duckies and wristbands the week of the event (July 15-18). This will allow you to use as much time as possible to enjoy the event rather than waiting in line to register.
The week of the event, once you have pre-registered and filled out all your waivers, you can come to the Employee Wellness office (JKB 2001) to pick up your duckies and wristbands. Just make sure to bring your items on the day of the event as wristbands will be required if you would like to participate in the ducky races and/or games. Wristbands may be replaced, but duckies will not.

Make sure you and your family get the perfect ducky! Check out the different duckies we have and remember, it is first come, first served. Pick up your ducky ahead of time to ensure you get the one you want!
Registration will open at the beginning of June. Early Bird Check-In will be available between July 15 and July 18, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm each day.
REGISTRATION IS FULL. Some ducks may be available for day-of walk-ins.
