About
The Foundation of Wellness
Wellness, which holistically affects one’s mind, body, and spirit, is the foundation upon which an engaging workplace culture and a meaningful employee experience must be built. This foundation provides the conditions under which employees have the capacity to choose to be engaged at work and together become a high-performing workforce. At BYU, we focus on 6 dimensions of wellness: emotional, intellectual, financial, physical, social, spiritual. Because of how essential a strong foundation of wellness is to both engagement and performance, we know that employees who prioritize wellness are much more likely to be happier, healthier, and more productive in and out of the workplace.
Our Mission
The BYU Employee Wellness Program exists to cultivate a campus culture of holistic wellness to enable employees and their spouses to build and strengthen their foundation of wellness so they can thrive in their roles to "assist others in their quest for perfection and eternal life”, fulfilling important responsibilities in and out of the workplace to the best of their abilities.
Program Participation
All non-student employees, including faculty, staff, and contract employees, part-time and full-time, are encouraged to take advantage of the wellness opportunities we offer. It is up to the managing supervisors to determine if employees are permitted to participate on or off the clock, and it is up to the employee to find out which is expected or permitted. We encourage supervisors to permit employees to participate on the clock, as these offerings are meant to supplement the employee experience and expected to lead to greater productivity, mission alignment, and job satisfaction.
Many offerings are also available to spouses of non-student employees, retirees and their spouses, and student employees as specified on their unique web pages.
